1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your session state or preferences. BoothLoader uses a minimal set of cookies required for the platform to function correctly.

2a. Authentication Cookies
BoothLoader uses a third-party authentication service. When you sign in to a BoothLoader account, session cookies are set to maintain your authenticated state:
- Type: httpOnly, Secure
- Purpose: Authenticate your session with the BoothLoader dashboard
- Expiry: Expires when your session ends or you sign out
- Removable: Cleared when you sign out; rejecting these cookies will prevent dashboard access
2b. Game Activity Cookies
When an attendee participates in a BoothLoader game at a booth, a device session cookie is set to link their activity across the session:
- Name:
game_session_[activityId] - Type: Not httpOnly (client-readable), path-scoped to
/play/ - Purpose: Tracks the attendee's lead ID for game score updates during their booth visit
- Expiry: 24 hours
- Removable: Clears automatically after 24 hours or can be deleted via browser settings
2c. Analytics Cookies
BoothLoader may use Google Analytics or similar tools to understand how visitors interact with the marketing site. If enabled, these cookies track aggregate page view statistics and do not contain personally identifiable information. You may opt out via your browser's cookie controls or the Google Analytics opt-out extension.
2d. Cookie Consent Preference
When you accept the cookie consent banner on the BoothLoader marketing site, a flag (cookie-consent-v1) is saved in your browser's localStorage. This is used only to prevent the banner from re-appearing on subsequent visits. It is not a cookie and contains no personal data.
3. How to Control Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in to the BoothLoader dashboard.
